wish there was more games like this in this style it brought back a lot of memories from when i was a kid playing the N64

you captured the horror of the n64 zeldas perfectly

This kinda blew me away, and I keep thinking back to this game weeks later.

i love the music in this game

This was weird, cool and I want more~

Lovely game, it was both peaceful and increasingly creepy as you realize what the snow really is, and what's happening to you too. Graphics were cute and I love the controls--platform games are so tricky for me and this was a lot of fun, kept the focus on the story. Thanks for creating!

Just finished playing, I wanted to try it for a while now. I had a great moment with the game. I particularly enjoyed the ost, I think it captures well the moodyness of the place. Congrats !

What a lovely game! Looking forward to the sequel. I made a detailed walkthrough examining the story below. Thanks!

Muito bom! Agora é ficar no aguardo do jogo completo

I would be really happy if you could give an estimate on when the full game is going to come out? Like is it going to be around next year; or even in several years (2025?)

I just would like to know what I should have my expectations for, I REALLY like this game.

This NEEDS to be a full game.

Its short length and abrupt downer ending just left me wanting more.

It NEEDS to be made into a full game. I mean, it could be like Majora's Mask meets Alone in the Dark 1 meets The Thing. The moment I played this bad boy, I KNEW it needs so desperately to be extended into a full-length adventure. What becomes of Basidia after the infection begins? How do you fight back against such a thing? How does the story end? Is it a full Lovecraftian affair, or is there a glimmer of hope at the end? The questions race through my mind, and I hope to god the developer of this game sees the same potential in Snow of Basidia that I do.

EDIT: And what do you know? It is! The Winds of Basidia. Can't wait to see how this plays out.

Spooky times were had by all <3

Beautiful work.

I was never a fan of any of the Zelda games but, the graphical style lends itself well to atmospheric spooks~.

Something about graphics like this are really interesting to look at. Like the blood being a few circles with a trail behind them. I don't know how to describe it... Or when the (spoilers) grows out of the guys (spoilers). I think some people refer to this as "graphical fidelity isn't 100% realistic, so your mind fills in the gaps and makes it scarier." But, I'm not sure that's what it is exactly.

Something about seeing these simple models undergo horrifying changes and coughing up big, circles of blood feels ominous. I highly dig this. I hope you pursue this idea further and maybe expand it into a bigger game that you can put a price tag on~.

Regardless of what you do, best wishes.

This game I think is probably my favourite horror game. It's just such a simple idea, that's done in a way that I cannot express how unnerving it is to me. There's no enemy, no monster hunting you down, and yet it's not quite true terror, but an unsettling thing I can't describe.
Perhaps it's because I'm one of the people who grew up on Ocarina Of Time; but this unsettles me like nothing else I've seen. I can't express enough how much of a child I feel while looking at this game.

I've heard rumours that there's plans to make it a full release, is this true? I would love to see more of this. It's hands down, one of the top, if not my top favourite horror experience.

I made an fan made, unofficial trailer for this game. I think we can speak for EVERYONE when we say we'd love a more horror-oriented and horror-focused take on Zelda.

Made out of love for Modus Interactive.

What is the song of the village before things go for the worse? its a really nice and chill song

Its a track I made called Snowfall, you can listen to it on my Bandcamp!

Good job mister, really like the style *____+

How did this game that was styled after N64 get submitted to a PS1 advent calendar anyway?!

(+1)

Ben Drowned type beat. Very nice plot and aesthetic N64 style, 10/10.

This is the first windows game I got working on my linux computer. I enjoyed it. I got my bro to play it and now he says he is going to have nightmares. Nice. Good job!

(+3)

Short, but eerie.

N64 just doesn't hit the same as PSX

(+6)

you absolutely nailed the n64/oot aesthetic: sound, gfx, textures, particles, ui. just fantastic! great feeling of dread soon as you realize what the "snow"
is, followed by a rapid downfall. loved how even the ui dregraded. take out the blood effects and this could have been a majora sidequest! your execution of 32bit style and horror vignettes are inspiring!

(+3)

metal as hell

(+2)

I absolutely adore ALL of the games and concepts that come out from, I love the music in this one

(+4)

I love retro-style horror games. But one thing I wished was that more would emulate N64 style visuals. For some reason, I think that era of graphics is very creepy. Plenty of games mimic Resident Evil and Silent Hill's PS1 style graphics to great effect but this is the first one I saw that did N64 and it's VERY unsettling. The story is great, too.
Side note: There are no jumpscares but there is body horror.

Thank you so much! That voice was made by modulating the pitch of a groan I recorded, making it warble. There’s also a bit of delay applied in engine as well!

Hiii, I've made a video about the game and wanted to share some feedback about it :D, hopefully it is useful to you :)

-The main concept and the short story on the game are pretty interesting and engages pretty well the player.

-The visual style is pretty well done and has a lot of that good retro personality that I really love to see :D

-Gameplay mechanics are pretty well done as they make the player focus easily on the story while providing some fun gameplay.

-I think that If you try to go straight to the origin of the snow without talking to the NPCs and you don't do it in any moment, the game doesn't "infect" you. (Check the video to see what I'm talking about, 2nd run)

Hopefully this is useful to you :D, also if you could subscribe that would help me a lot :)

Regards

You seem to be onto something with your last point; the game does appear to use talking to the NPC's as some sort of trigger for the countdown.

WE NEED A FULL GAME ON THIS!!!! PLSSSSSSS
